But with the huge number of Safaricom shares available for trading at the NSE, analysts say any gains would come over time favouring investors with a long term view of the market.

While most of the counters where foreign investors are showing increased appetite have seen them take up stocks, for Mumias, the story has been different. The foreigners are exiting the counter, with Ms Njuguna saying 90 per cent of sales in Mumias shares were from this segment of investors.
